“I’m apart of an environment that encourages us to express our ‘out of the box’ ideas. No matter how silly they may be I always find someone cheering me on.”
Will Greenwood, Managing Director of North America has always loved to be a leader, but it wasn’t until he began working at Maritech until he truly felt like he was making a difference.

Over the last four years, Will Greenwood has maneuvered through many roles at Maritech. Initially starting as a senior consultant and shifting towards operations manager, Greenwood is now happily fulfilling his role as Managing Director of North America.
“I really loved what the company stood for and what they were willing to offer me, most significantly the work-life balance,” begins Greenwood.
Values align
Having three kids, Greenwood, and wife Sarah of 15 years, never take quality time with their children for granted. An active family, utilizing as much free time to be outdoors playing as possible, chances are you’ll likely find them sharing laughs and playing games.
“We love the outdoors, and spending time with my family is important to me, which was one of the initial reasons I valued my role in Maritech. I was given the autonomy and responsibility to fill my role at the best of my ability, but I never had to sacrifice time with my family in return,” Greenwood says with a smile.
From cars to fish
But the switch from the automotive into the seafood industry was one that was accompanied close by a steep learning curve. That never deterred Greenwood however, and instead motivated him to learn everything he could possibly fill his brain with.
“I was able to come into a role that afforded me a huge opportunity to learn new products, applications, and a new industry. I was given the time I needed to learn and grow and felt incredibly comfortable when I brought my ideas to the table. They were adaptable to new processes I suggested which always made me feel like I was making a difference,” reflected Greenwood.
Good timing
Greenwood came to Maritech at a unique time. A time of growth and change. The company was expanding so fast that in certain instances there were no processes even in place, so it presented an opportunity to build them. The company provided a safe and welcoming place for new ideas, and gave Greenwood confidence in himself, that he was making a difference.
“When you feel like you are making a difference, it makes you feel super comfortable with the organization and with people being open to some of the suggestions you are making. I’m apart of an environment that encourages us to express our ‘out of the box’ ideas. No matter how silly or wacky they may be I always find someone cheering me on,” says Greenwood.
He reflects on a story from a few weeks prior, “I said to Marie [Head of Marketing & Communications], ‘hey Marie, we should get a motor home, put the Maritech logo on either side and drive around North America with a trailer that has the Maritech Eye in it’ and she just looked back at me with wide eyes and said, ‘that is the best idea I’ve heard all week.’”
It’s the kind of environment Greenwood always wanted to work in and is so proud and humbled by the people he works with everyday.
“It’s so great, we have a company with employees spread out across oceans, countries, cultures and backgrounds and yet we are one incredible group of people working towards one global Maritech,” Greenwood finished with a smile.
